Biking & Bluegrass This Weekend


With the 23rd Annual Bluegrass Music Festival coming to the Ulster American Folk Park on 29th - 31st August 2014, there has never been a better time to mix up a weekend of music and mountain biking in the Sperrins. 

This renowned music festival boasts 3 days of live music from some of the biggest names in bluegrass including USA stars Dale Ann Bradley, Love Canon and The Outliers. With a number of local artists also performing including Sligo’s Rackhouse Pilfer and Belfast’s White Mansions, this year's festival of bluegrass is set to be the best yet.

The Ulster American Folk Park is located just 25 miles from the Davagh Forest Trails and approximately 22 miles from the Blessingbourne Trails allowing for mountain bikers to enjoy an action packed weekend of biking in the mornings with some of the finest bluegrass on offer in the evenings!

Friday 29th August
- Party in the Park with Rackhouse Pilfer & Love Canon from 2pm - Midnight 

Saturday 30th August
- Afternoon Sessions (mix of international & home grown talent) from 12pm - 6pm
- Evening Concert with The Outliers, Four Wheel Drive & Jolanda Peters and Dale Ann Bradley from 8pm - late

Sunday 31st August
- Afternoon Sessions (mix of international & home grown talent) from 12pm - 6pm
- Evening Concert with Robirohi and Dale Ann Bradley from 8pm - late

Base yourself in MTB-Friendly Accommodation in the Sperrins. 

An Creagan Cottages
This group of 8 cosy cottages is situated roughly half way between Davagh Forest and the Ulster American Folk Park and offer a truly authentic Tyrone experience. 

Mullaghmore House
This welcoming B&B is located just 5 miles from the Ulster American Folk Park and is perfect those after a bit of luxury between their biking and bluegrass.
