Greg Callaghan is Europe's Top Rider After Round 1 of the Enduro World Series

Irish champion mountain biker, Greg Callaghan is currently sitting as the top European rider in the Enduro World Series, after finishing 5th in the first round in Rotorua, New Zealand.

After 7 gruelling stages (with grim weather conditions) Greg was delighted to be sitting so high in the rankings.

The Irish champ won last year's third round at the Emerald Enduro in Wicklow.

Local Kiwi rider Wyn Masters is currently sitting in first place, while Chain Reaction Cycles Mavic rider Sam Hill came in fourth.

Killian Callaghan also had a great weekend's riding, finishing up in 2nd position overall in the Men's U21.

Killian recently took a road trip to the mountain bike trails in Northern Ireland with NI and WideOpenMag rider Kelan Grant. Watch their trip on MountainBikeNI's YouTube channel.

The next round of the EWS will take place in Tasmania, Austrailia over the 8th and 9th of April.
